Uganda has joined other African nations at the Intra-Africa Trade Fair (IATF 2025), running from 4th – 10th September 2025 in Algeria. The Uganda Free Zones and Export Promotions Authority (UFZEPA), alongside the Embassy of Uganda in Algeria, is spearheading the country’s participation with a stall showcasing a variety of Ugandan products.
The Ugandan delegation is led by Hon. Matia Kasaija, Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development. He is accompanied by Hon. Frederick Ngobi Gume, Minister of State for Trade, Industry and Cooperatives (Cooperatives), and the host H.E. John Chrysostom Alintuma Nsambu, Uganda’s Ambassador to Algeria. Their presence underscores Uganda’s strong political will to boost exports, attract investment, and strengthen trade relations on the continent.
“Uganda’s presence at this Trade Fair is about more than exhibiting our products. It is about showcasing Uganda as a land of opportunity. We are here to promote our exports, attract investment, and build new trade partnerships that will benefit both Uganda and the continent. With our rich natural resources, skilled people, and strategic location, Uganda is open for business and ready to play a leading role in driving Africa’s economic integration,” Hon. Kasaija
On his part, Hon. Ngobi said: “Uganda’s cooperatives play a vital role in driving inclusive growth and empowering producers. At IATF 2025, we are opening new doors for our farmers, traders, and small businesses to access wider markets and benefit from continental trade.”

Echoing these commitments, Ambassador Nsambu highlighted Uganda’s diplomatic and trade ambitions: “This fair is an important platform to strengthen Uganda’s trade and investment ties not only with Algeria but with the entire continent. We are committed to deepening partnerships that create opportunities for Ugandan exporters and attract investors to our country.”
Uganda’s stall features Agro-processed goods, crafts, and manufactured products, reflecting the country’s emphasis on value addition and competitiveness in export markets. Beyond product displays, UFZEPA is promoting Uganda’s Free Zones as strategic hubs for industrialisation and export-led growth.
UFZEPA and the Embassy of Uganda in Algeria are engaging potential investors, buyers, and trade partners, positioning Uganda as a competitive player under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
Uganda’s participation at IATF 2025 demonstrates its commitment to unlocking new markets, linking exporters to buyers, and expanding its trade footprint across Africa and globally.
