Kampala, Uganda — Derrick Ssenyonyi, the award-winning travel visual artist, storyteller, and wildlife enthusiast, is proud to announce the launch of his inaugural exhibition, “Timeless Frames”, scheduled for September 20, 2024, at the Kampala Serena Hotel.

This landmark event will showcase Derrick’s captivating journey through Uganda’s breathtaking landscapes, vibrant wildlife, and rich cultural heritage and will emphasize the vital role of conservation.

The announcement comes as part of a press conference held at the Kampala Serena Hotel, graced by the presence of the State Minister for ICT and National Guidance, Hon. Kabbyanga Godfrey Baluku, Representatives from the Uganda Wildlife Authority, the visual arts sector and content creators.

The exhibition, which promises to be a significant event in Uganda’s cultural calendar, is designed to highlight the power of visual storytelling in promoting tourism and conservation.

Derrick Ssenyonyi shared his excitement about the upcoming exhibition, saying, “I am thrilled to officially announce the launch of ‘Timeless Frames.’ This exhibition is more than just an art display; it is a narrative of Uganda’s natural beauty and cultural richness. I hope it will inspire viewers to appreciate and protect our unique environment and heritage but most importantly highlight the role of creative storytelling in promoting tourism.”

The “Timeless Frames” exhibition will be the first of many, intended to become an annual event that celebrates Uganda’s visual arts and storytelling. This yearly showcase will bring together artists, tourists, and conservationists to honor the natural and cultural treasures of Uganda and create a tradition of appreciating and safeguarding the nation’s beauty.

State Minister for ICT and National Guidance, Hon. Kabbyanga Godfrey Baluku, “We are delighted to support Derrick Ssenyonyi’s ‘Timeless Frames’ exhibition, which exemplifies our mandate to promote and harness the power of communication for national development. As the Minister of ICT and National
Development, we are committed to fostering innovation and supporting initiatives that highlight Uganda
through effective visual storytelling. This exhibition not only showcases our country’s stunning landscapes and rich cultural heritage but also aligns with our goal of enhancing Uganda’s global presence. We look forward to seeing how ‘Timeless Frames’ will inspire both local and international audiences.”

Stephen Masaba, the Head of Business and Tourism at Uganda Wildlife Authority commented on the importance of the exhibition, stating, “The ‘Timeless Frames’ exhibition is a testament to the power of
visual arts in promoting our country’s tourism and highlighting the importance of conservation. Derrick Ssenyonyi’s work captures the essence of Uganda, and we are proud to support this initiative. It aligns
perfectly with our vision of conserving for generations.”

Following the launch event on September 20th, the exhibition will continue to be showcased from October 1 to 31, 2024, at the Summit View Residences. This month-long exhibition will be open to the public, offering visitors an opportunity to immerse themselves in the stunning visuals of Uganda’s landscapes and wildlife, as seen through Derrick’s lens.

Tickets for the launch of the “Timeless Frames” exhibition are priced at 200,000 UGX per person and 3,000,000 UGX per table.
