The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs in charge of International Cooperation, Hon. Okello Oryem, has received copies of credence from Ms Samalie Nambooze, the Honorary Consul designate of Grenada to Uganda, in a move aimed at reinforcing the long-standing spirit of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
During the engagement, Hon. Oryem underscored Uganda’s commitment to partnerships that advance mutual interests across key sectors.

“Uganda values partnerships that foster trade, tourism, and people-to-people exchange,” Hon. Oryem said while welcoming Ms Nambooze.
The presentation of credentials by Ms Nambooze marks an important milestone in strengthening bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Uganda and Grenada, as well as expanding Uganda’s diplomatic engagement beyond its traditional regions.

Officials noted that the appointment of an Honorary Consul designate is expected to enhance collaboration in areas of mutual interest, including economic cooperation, cultural exchange, and international diplomacy.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the engagement reflects Uganda’s broader foreign policy objective of diversifying partnerships and deepening international cooperation, particularly with countries in the Caribbean and other emerging regions.

The meeting concluded with reaffirmation from both sides of their commitment to further strengthening ties and exploring new avenues for collaboration between Uganda and Grenada.
