This is the 13th edition and Uganda will be playing at the final tournament for the first time. It will take place from 14th to 28th April, 2019 in Tanzania.

The Cubs qualified in August this year after winning the CECAFA U17 zonal qualifiers when they defeated Ethiopia 3-1 in the final at the national stadium, Dar es Salaam.

Speaking after the draws, Uganda U17 Coach, Peter Onen, expressed no fear for any team in the group, but instead, promised a beautiful game come the tournament next year.

“We shall prepare well enough to get the best results. I trust my team has been looking forward to the draw. The fans in Tanzania will be out to enjoy another brand of great football from the Champions Uganda as they face Angola and Nigeria,” he said

“We know Tanzania will be seeking revenge against my boys on the pitch but we know how to handle such situations that come with pressure,” he added.

Uganda has a chance of representing Africa in the FIFA 2019 U17 World Cup in Peru, South America, should they grace the semi finals of the tournament.

Group B has Guinea, Cameroon, Senegal and Morocco.

Confederation of African Football (CAF) President, Ahmad Ahmad delegated FUFA President, Eng Moses Magogo to represent him at the event.
