Uganda Christian University Mourns Death of Graduate Belinda Birungi

Uganda Christian University is mourning the passing of its graduate, Belinda Birungi, who died in a road accident on Friday. 

“We are saddened to learn about the death of Belinda Birungi, a 22-year-old UCU graduate who succumbed to a motor accident on Friday, October 28, 2022,” the university tweeted on Sunday.

She received her Bachelor of Arts in Industrial and Fine Art in July. 

Belinda is State Minister for Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Sam Mayanja’s daughter. 

“May the Lord provide comfort to the family and friends of Mr Mayanja during this sad time.” 

The accident happened along Ntinda Stretcher Road when a trailer failed to climb a hill and reverse-crashed Birungi with her Boda Boda rider. 

The Boda Boda rider died on the spot while Birungi died shortly after at Naguru Hospital.
