In a strategic move to broaden its footprint, steel building solutions manufacturer Uganda Baati has officially opened its 17th showroom in Kyengera, a rapidly growing commercial hub along the Kampala–Masaka Highway.

Surrounded by key townships such as Buloba, Bulega, Mpigi, Nsangi, and Katende, Kyengera is emerging as a vibrant midpoint teeming with entrepreneurial activity. The area is home to a mix of self-made business owners, educational institutions, and well-known brands, ranging from KFC outlets to DFCU Bank branches, making it an ideal location for Uganda Baati’s newest facility.

The showroom is strategically positioned to serve homeowners, contractors, and businesses in Wakiso District and surrounding communities. Customers will now enjoy convenient access to Uganda Baati’s full range of premium roofing solutions, including Lifestyle, Orientile, Romantile, Versatile, Covermax, and Resincot.

Uganda Baati CEO George Arodi highlighted the strategic importance of the new showroom: “Our expansion into Kyengera is part of our long-standing mission to bring top-tier building solutions closer to communities. Kyengera’s dynamism and entrepreneurial spirit continue to inspire us to innovate and deliver excellence.”

Patrick Katende, Head of Service Centres and Sales at Uganda Baati, emphasised the showroom’s role in improving customer service and curbing counterfeit products. “This showroom will make it easier for customers to access genuine Uganda Baati products and expert guidance, helping them make informed decisions and ensuring long-term value for money.”

The guest of honour, Mrs Nantege Betinah, LC5 Vice Chairperson of Wakiso District, encouraged residents to embrace this new opportunity: “We appreciate Uganda Baati for bringing essential services closer to the people. We pledge our continued support and encourage all Wakiso and Kyengera residents to use and recommend their products.”

Local leaders and residents enthusiastically welcomed the development, hailing it as a catalyst for economic growth and improved access to high-quality building materials.

Mr Kandiiho Livingston, the area’s District Police Commander, reaffirmed the Uganda Police Force’s commitment to creating a secure business environment. “We are proud to support Uganda Baati and look forward to building strong partnerships that benefit the entire community.”

“Uganda Baati’s presence in Kyengera brings convenience, affordability, and trust to local builders,” said Ganagwa Expedito, LC1 Chairperson of Kyengera Town Council. “It will significantly reduce the cost of sourcing reliable construction materials from far-off places. We commit to spreading the word and supporting this effort.”

Beyond business, the showroom is a key component of Uganda Baati’s broader Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) agenda, which focuses on four pillars: education, shelter, environment, and health. By rooting itself in the heart of the community, the company aims to support more than just construction needs.

The Kyengera showroom will also serve as a vital resource and support centre for hardware stores and distributors, helping strengthen Uganda Baati’s supply chain and deepen its market presence.

With over six decades of experience, Uganda Baati continues to lead the way in delivering sustainable, innovative, and community-focused building solutions. The opening of the Kyengera showroom is yet another milestone in its commitment to empowering Ugandans through access to quality products and reliable service.
