Uganda at 60: Guangzhou Consulate Holds Second Diaspora Business Forum

Ugandans in China led by Ambassador Judyth Nsababera, commemorate Uganda’s 60th Independence at the 2nd Diaspora Business Summit

The Consulate General of the Republic of Uganda in Guangzhou in collaboration with the Ugandan Diaspora leadership in Guangzhou held the second Ugandans in China Diaspora Business Forum.

The Forum was held in Guangzhou, under the theme “My Investment and Partnership Journey”.

In view of this year’s independence theme “A declaration of African interdependence and our shared destiny”, the Consulate invited a panel of successful African entrepreneurs in China to share their business and investment journeys with the Ugandan Diaspora in China.

The panellists highlighted hard work, finding the right partners, being open minded and seizing opportunities as well as being able to take risks and adapting to the ever changing business environment as some of the ways to achieving success.

Ambassador Judyth Nsababera delivering her remarks

In the Consul General’s remarks, Ambassador Judyth Nsababera, commended the Ugandan Diaspora for their continued contribution to the development of the Ugandan economy through remittances back home business start-ups for skills transfer and encouraged them to do more in promoting Uganda and marketing Ugandan products by partnering with Chinese businessmen and pledged full support from the Consulate.

Thereafter, the Consulate hosted the guests to a dinner in celebration of the 60th Independence Anniversary of the Republic of Uganda.
