The Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) Examinations for the 2022 candidates will officially start on Friday October 14, 2022 with the briefing of candidates.

This was announced Thursday by UNEB Executive Director, Dan Odongo, during a media briefing on the commencement of Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) Examination 2022 at the Uganda Media Center in Kampala. He said the examinations will officially start on Friday with the briefing of candidates.

According to Odongo, the briefing is a very important exercise which must be conducted by the head teachers themselves.

“During the briefing session, candidates must be made aware of the instructions contained in the timetable and the Rules and Regulations on examination conduct,” he noted.

He said UNEB has found out that cases of irregularities and malpractice by candidates quite often arise from candidates receiving inadequate, or no briefing at all.

“We wish to encourage parents who can attend the briefing to do so, and guide the candidates,” Odongo said.

Odongo said the briefing is also aligned to the national prayers and dedication for the candidates and the examination process which UNEB has requested for from all faith affiliations.

These prayers are scheduled to take place from Friday to Sunday 16, 2022.

Candidates will, thereafter, start with writing their examination on Monday October 17 starting with Mathematics 1 in the morning and Mathematics 2 in the evening.

A total of 349,455 candidates were registered and are scheduled to sit for the examination from 3703 examination centres.
