Two people have died while several others were left nursing injuries in a fatal accident at Nile Avenue, Radio one village, in central division, Kampala city.

The accident involved a Toyota Hiace
Reg No UAW 987Y.

It is alleged that the said commuter taxi was traveling from the direction of Speke Road facing Clement Road with an unidentified number of passengers on board at a high speed.

While approaching a sharp corner, it failed to brake and eventually fell down inside the UBC subway roundabout.

According to Traffic Police Spokesperson, Faridah Nampiima, two occupants of the taxi died on spot and many unidentified passengers sustained serious injuries.

The police rushed the injured victims to Mulago Hospital.

Bodies of the deceased were delivered to City Mortuary for postmortem.

Police Fire and Rescue services team are at the scene to remove the wreckage of the vehicle.
