“We are here to gain a deeper understanding of the country’s healthcare system, am glad that we have signed very important protocols with relevant partners and strongly believe that all parties shall greatly benefit from the protocols in terms of serving our societies,” Topuz said.

“The Protocols of cooperation have been signed between healthcare authorities including Kampala International University and Islamic University In Uganda,” he added.

Ilyas Benveniste, director for International Business Development at Türkiye’s Acıbadem Healthcare Group, explained that the healthcare group based in Istanbul, has presence in five countries including Türkiye, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Serbia, and the Netherlands, providing a comprehensive range of healthcare services using advanced technologies and a largest pool of expert clinicians that meet international quality standards.

Signing of Protocol means the agreement between Seller, the Guarantor and Purchaser to, amongst other things, indicate the final, binding and irrevocable offer of the Purchaser to buy the Acquisition Shares and the Preferred Equity in accordance with the terms of this Agreement.

Speaking at the event, the State Minister for Investment, Evelyn Anite, noted that the healthcare sector is an important sector and with the investment from the Turkish group, the country will save on some of the money used to treat Ugandans abroad.

She said the group’s commitment to invest in Uganda is a step ahead in the Uganda’s industrialization journey.

“As a country we don’t look at you as investors you are our partners.. this is one of the place to do business. I am happy that you are bringing the best here and you choosing to invest in Uganda. There are so many investment opportunities in Uganda, and I urge you invest more in Uganda,” she said.
