The 2025 Trace Awards & Summit set the stage for an unforgettable night of African music, culture, and creativity at the stunning Mora Resort in Zanzibar, Tanzania.
The event brought together an array of music icons, industry powerhouses, and cultural tastemakers, with South Africa’s Tito & Huppe claiming Song of the Year for Tswhala Bam, a global dancefloor anthem.
Nigerian superstar Rema solidified his dominance by winning Album of the Year for Heis, and Male Artist of the Year, while Ivory Coast’s Didi B bagged Best Hip-Hop Artist.
The star-studded night also saw Makhadzi crowned Best Dancer, DJ Moh Green named Best DJ, and Diamond Platnumz recognised as Best Global African Artist.

South Africa’s Tyla secured Best Female Artist, while Congolese icon Fally Ipupa took home Best Live Performance. The Changemaker Award honoured Rwandan choreographer- Sherrie Silver, while Nigerian legend D’Banj received the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award.
But beyond the accolades, the night was a celebration of Africa’s ever-expanding creative economy.
