Tourism Minister Tom Butime Welcomes New UTB CEO Juliana Kagwa

The Minister of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities, Hon. Col. (Rtd) Tom Butime, has officially welcomed Ms. Juliana Kagwa as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Uganda Tourism Board (UTB).

In his remarks, the Minister outlined the Ministry’s expectations, urging Ms. Kagwa to prioritise collaboration with industry stakeholders and position UTB as a strategic enabler in driving increased tourist arrivals and enhancing the sector’s global competitiveness.

Ms. Kagwa pledged to focus on strengthening Uganda’s tourism product offering, improving UTB’s institutional performance, fostering stronger public-private partnerships, and elevating the country’s destination image on the international stage.

Also present at the meeting were the Ministry’s Undersecretary, Mr. Geoffrey Sseremba and Commissioner for Tourism Development, Mr. Lyazi Vivian, and other staff of the Ministry.
