All roads lead to Imperial Royale Hotel this Friday, July 25, for the National Public Relations Symposium 2025, hosted by the Public Relations Association of Uganda (PRAU).

This year’s gathering promises to be a powerful convergence of thought leaders, top CEOs, senior communicators, and policy influencers redefining leadership through communication.

Themed around the power of communication as a strategic driver, the symposium will explore how today’s top executives are building trust, shaping public policy, and leading transformation across industries.

Session Highlights

Session 1 titled “CEO Mindset — Leading with Communication at the Core” will be moderated by Charles Odongtho, Journalist and Lawyer.

The Panelists will include: Patrick Kironde, MD, Internal Audit & Assurance Uganda; CPA Josephine Okui Ossiya, CEO, Capital Markets Authority and Annette Kibuuka, Managing Director, Ecobank Uganda.

This session will unpack how top executives use communication to drive growth, foster trust, and manage strategic transitions in a rapidly evolving corporate environment.

Session 2 titled “Effective Advocacy, Stakeholder Relations, and Public Policy Influencing” will be moderated by Jackie Tahakanizibwa, Uganda Breweries Ltd

The Panelists include: Reen Mazingia, Communications Specialist, Compassion International; Arthur Dyono, Communications, ABI Development Ltd and Dr. Patrick Ocailap, Director, Policy & Advocacy, Uganda Manufacturers Association.

A must-attend discussion on the mechanics of successful policy engagement and stakeholder alignment in today’s complex regulatory landscape.

Session 3 titled “PR Leaders Who Made It to the Top” will be moderated by Stella-Marion Atieno, MD, African Elite & PRAU Secretary General.

The Panelists include: Frankoza Kyambutetera, Executive Director, CEO East Africa Magazine; Doreen K. Mugume, CEO, Uganda Institute of Banking & Financial Services and Dr. Patricia Litho, Assistant Commissioner Communication, Ministry of Energy & Mineral Development.

This inspiring session will spotlight leading public relations professionals who have broken ceilings and transitioned into top-tier leadership roles.
