As Uganda prepares to host Group C matches of the TotalEnergies CAF CHAN PAMOJA 2024 tournament, the Local Organising Committee has today unveiled detailed ticketing arrangements for fans eager to experience live football at the revamped Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.
The African Nations Championship (CHAN), which kicks off this Saturday, August 2, 2025, is being co-hosted by Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania under the PAMOJA partnership. Uganda will host twelve high-stakes matches featuring teams from Algeria, Guinea, Niger, South Africa, and the home side, Uganda Cranes.
Dr. Dennis K. Mugimba, Chairperson of the Communications and Signage Sub-Committee, emphasized that the ticketing plan was crafted to be inclusive and fan-friendly.
“The guiding principle for the pricing of CHAN-2024 tournament tickets for Uganda was to make it affordable for everyone interested in watching a match at Namboole to do so and be part of an experience of a lifetime,” said Dr. Mugimba.
Digital-Only Ticketing Experience
All tickets will be sold online via CAF’s official website, with no option for physical ticket purchases.
“CAF manages the entire ticketing arrangements,” Dr. Mugimba noted. “Fans can access tickets through the CAF website or by scanning a QR code that redirects to the portal.”
Once on the site, fans can select matches in any of the three host countries. Tickets for Uganda-hosted matches are now available for Group Stage fixtures on August 4th, 8th, 11th, and 15th. A highly anticipated clash between Uganda and South Africa is set for August 18th, though tickets for that game are not yet on sale.
Affordable Prices and Seamless Access
Tickets come in three pricing tiers: Ordinary – UGX 10,000, Silver – UGX 30,000 and Premium – UGX 50,000.
One ticket grants access to all matches scheduled on a particular day—typically two back-to-back games.
“If you enter the stadium to watch a match scheduled for 5 p.m., you are allowed to use the same ticket to remain in your seat and watch the next match at 8 p.m.,” explained Dr. Mugimba.
However, re-entry is prohibited; once a ticket is scanned and the spectator leaves, they will not be allowed back in.
Stadium Sections and Seating
Fans will be able to choose their seating section during purchase.
Ordinary tickets cover sections behind the goalposts (Sections 1, 2, 8, 9, 10, 16).
Silver ticket holders sit opposite the VVIP section in Section 5.
Premium ticket holders get prime views in Sections 12 or 14, flanking the VVIP area.
Each ticket purchase is limited to five people per transaction, and seat selection is time-sensitive—held for just 10 minutes during checkout.
Smooth Payment Options
Tickets can be paid for via: MTN MoMo, Airtel Money and Visa/MasterCard.
After payment, the ticket will be sent via SMS or email and can be scanned digitally at the gate.
The Cranes kick off their campaign against Algeria on August 4 at 8 p.m., following an earlier match between Niger and Guinea.
As excitement mounts, fans are urged to secure their seats early and embrace this rare opportunity to be part of a premier continental football event on home soil.
