Singer Edrisah Musuuza, known professionally as Eddy Kenzo on Friday night survived being hit with bottles during a fresher’s ball at Makerere University.

“Today, let me go and sing for students at Makerere University at the 87th #MukFreshersBall at #FreedomSquare,” Kenzo tweeted earlier in the day.

When the actual event kicked off, the Semyekezo singer was first received with wild cheers and ululations as freshers enjoyed his songs at the Freedom Square.

Problems started when Kenzo started singing his latest song “Weekend”.

Students decided to jump onto the stage and dance along with him sparking a commotion that quickly progressed into a scuffle.

Students then started hurling bottles of beer forcing Kenzo’s security team to quickly whisk him away from the stage.

While Kenzo tried to inquire as to what was happening, a bottle of Guinness was thrown at him.

A one Karim (@babyfaceug) tweeted saying the bottle instead caught Fic Love in the head.

“I can confirm that am safe, Kenzo is safe. And other team members! It’s only Fic Love who’s injured. The bottle came direct to his head, we wish him speed recovery,” Karim tweeted.

Police was forced to fire teargas to disperse the rowdy students.

Kenzo was safely evacuated from the scene.

Karim added: “Man looks like we were in a war, some guy threw a ka guiness bottle direct to our TX. It took us like 2 hours to exit Makerere. We had to make sure that Eddy is safe! A night to remember. My brother  @ficloveofficial, Quick recovery!!”
