Kampala, Uganda – Police are holding a former teacher at Step by Step School in Nansana municipality who is accused of sexually abusing six girls.
Luke Owoyesigire, the Deputy Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, identified the suspect as Moses Mpanga Aldo, a resident of Nansana municipality in Wakiso district.
According to Owoyesigire, the suspect is said to have committed the offences between 2019 and 2020.
Owoyesigire reveals that police have recorded statements from the parents of the victims and commenced inquiries into the matter.
“We have opened up a general inquiry file, where statements from the parents of these girls have been recorded. Also, the teacher is detained at Nansana Police station. It should be noted that Aldo has refused to give us a statement and we are making inquiries,” Owoyesigire told URN.
