Tanzania’s Suluhu Hassan Congratulates Uganda’s Museveni on Re-election, Cites Strong Ties

Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan has congratulated President-elect Yoweri Museveni on his re-election, saying the result reflects the confidence Ugandans have in his leadership.

In a congratulatory message issued on behalf of the government and people of Tanzania, President Hassan said Museveni’s victory demonstrated the trust placed in his vision by the people of Uganda.

She said she looked forward to continuing to work with President Museveni to strengthen the fraternal and historical ties between the two countries for the benefit of their citizens.

Uganda and Tanzania maintain close diplomatic and economic relations, including cooperation within the East African Community and on regional security and trade initiatives.
