Northern Region singer Jenneth Prischa will headline the maiden “Luo Music Experience” showcase in Kampala, Entebbe and Jinja this August and September 2024.
Prischa is a multi-talent, Award-winning recording and performing artist known for mind-blowing Luo-crafted songs with her thrilling vocals, videos and live shows.
Pat Robert Larubi, a freelance travel and lifestyle journalist, show host, and video news editor at WanLuo TV who is the brain behind the Luo music experience event, said this maiden edition has a lot to offer to the Luo community.
“It is just another moment of the year when you opt to close your eyes and only open them when you are standing next to or watching your biggest musical stars that you have long watched on television perform live for you.”
According to him, the #LuoMusicExperience will present a great deal of cool, classic, elegant and exhilarating Luo music from singer Jenneth Prischa, Tam Noffy, Sam Sammy, Kemboy Mulili, Luo legacy dance troupe and Roo Ya Simba, Busoga’s finest for the crowd in Jinja city.
“If this is something you have been looking for, the #LuoMusicExperience showcase will make this happen for you. Note that being Luo is not a requirement to attend the #LuoMusicExperience. If you love cultures, have a Luo friend or are married to a Luo man or woman, we will be glad to host you as we celebrate everything Luo,” added Larubi.
He said the Luo Music Experience is just offering a platform for physical reach and presence to these untapped populations while building a healthy and prosperous art industry up north.
Much as Kampala, Entebbe, and Jinja have a huge population of Luo-speaking people, it’s easy also to feel homesick and lonely, but the Luo Music Experience show will ignite the power and spirit of the network so you can never feel the same again.
Starting with Kampala on August 24, 2024, the team will be at Amoo Car Wash located opposite Stabex Namuwongo, then move on to Entebbe on September 6 at the Red Roosters Sports Bar and a wrap-up with a mega show in Jinja on September 7, 2024 at Savers Club Bugembe, respectively.
“Luo Music Experience is all about empowering minds, passion, and networking. It’s all about Luo’s helping Luo people connect with their roots – a pure celebration of Luo heritage,” noted Larubi.
He promises a 100% celebration of Luo culture and unity in diversity, calling it a moment for the different tribes namely; Acholi, Langi, Alur, and Japadola to come together.
He added that the event will empower and uplift the Luo community wherever they are, promote cultural diversity, inclusion and development and above all amplify Luo voices through music.
“Enabling notched, celebrated, and rising artists from across Northern Uganda who have enjoyed regional vibrancy to set up physical footprint beyond the confines of their cities and/or towns while building a strong social network arousing business linkage for our varied community of vendors, young social enterprises and corporate individuals as well as other Luos doing amazing projects.”
