Mbarara City FC on Wednesday lost its first Uganda Premier League match at Kakyeka stadium to Arua side, Onduparaka FC.
The unbeaten home run was ended in a 2-1 loss on Wednesday evening.

In the second stanza, Caterpillars doubled their effort to get an equalizer in the 54th minute through their captain, Rashid Toha.
Left with no alternative, Mbarara City FC tactician, Mbabazi replaced injured Oriti Ibrahim with Umar Mihinzi and Swalik Sseguja for Ivan Eyam to contain the draw.
In the 77th minute, Mbarara City’s defense relaxed giving former Cranes’ star, Ceaser Okhuti a window to take a shot past city’s goalkeeper, Ali Kimera, earning Onduparaka an away win.
Commenting on the game, Mbarara city’s assistant coach, Baker Kasule conceded the loss claiming his boys did not concentrate.
“To me, the game wasn’t the best. We have not played well and we lost concentration and conceded the first goal and continued to lose,” Kasule said.
However, he hopes for the best in the next match. He says the league is still a marathon.
“It was a bad day but I believe we shall bounce back strongly because the league is still a marathon,” said Kasule.
Onduparaka’s head coach, Sadiq Wassa congratulated his players upon registering away points at Kakyeka.
“An away win is really a good motivation to the players, we hope to keep this winning run for a while,” Wassa said
Onduparaka plays Vipers in their next game while Mbarara City FC will take on Kirinya Jinja.
