Tears gripped Bugolobi Medical centre on Wednesday as Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga paid a courtesy visit to the bed ridden Mukono Woman MP Betty Nambooze.

SoftPower understands that upon setting eyes on ailing Nambooze, the Speaker broke down in tears for close to five minutes due to the situation Nambooze was in.

It took a while to compose themselves before they could talk together.

Kadaga was empathetic to Nambooze while the latter was surprised to be visited by the same person who suspended her from Parliament, a decision from which her brutal treatment culminated.

According to media reports, Parliament is set to sponsor medical treatment for Nambooze and Mityana Municipality MP Francis Zaake. Nambooze’s spine is said to be inflamed and requires an operation from India or Nairobi Kenya.

The speaker was so moved by Nambooze’s condition that she promised to help process the needed documents from parliament and provide necessary support to see the Mukono legislature go for further medical attention as recommended by her doctors.

She noted down the necessary requirements for follow-up.

After the Speaker’s visit, the MP took to social media and posted; “Kadaga has come to check on me and we were both speechless… Yet we are taught that there is a minimum level of courtesy required of leaders…I, therefore, thank her for paying me a visit.”
