“Without your support, I couldn’t do anything,” he said, before listing some of the milestones the community has achieved during his tenure as the chair of EAC.

“I thank Your Excellencies for entrusting me with the privilege of presiding over the affairs of our community since July, 2022. It has been a great honour to steer the most vibrant region.”

“South Sudan is committed to regional integration. As incoming Chair, I pledge to foster regional integration for the greater prosperity of the region,” noted H.E. Salva Kiir Mayardit.

On his part, Hon (Dr.) Peter Mutuku Mathuki, the Secretary General- East African Community congratulated the outgoing EAC Chairperson for his astute leadership and commitment to regional integration.

“In particular, his dedication in steering the region’s quest for regional peace and security leaves an indelible mark in the region,” said Mathuki.
