South African pop duo Blaq Diamond and Nigeria musician Ayra Starr are coming to Kampala for the Blankets and Wines festival slated for July 24, 2022.

Running under the theme “Blankets is Me”, Blankets at 10 will celebrate the music, art, and fashion over the 10 years.

Blankets and Wine gives an Urban-Afrocentric experience through an exceptional display of talent through music and art.

The House of DJs and their partners Chipper Cash unveiled the other sponsors and artists who will grace the event while addressing the press on Sunday.

Blaq Diamond from South Africa was unveiled as the surprise act.

The Afro-pop duo, Ndumiso Mdletshe and Sphelele Dunywa from Ladysmith KwaZulu-Natal, met in 2010 on a school trip where both participated in a music cypher in the school bus.

This edition will also feature Nigerian singer Ayra Starr (Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe) who began a fashion career at the age of 16 with Quove Model Management before deciding to pursue music.

Others are; Zulitums, Josh Baraka, Kamanzi, Alideki Brian, DJ Sese, Fem Deejay and Melodic Inversions.

The event will be hosted by Miss Deedan and Lynda Dane.

Speaking at the unveiling press conference, Dan Tumuramye, the Chipper Cash Country Director, said “We have launched new products since last time. As we speak all chipper customers can receive money from across 9 countries in the world.”

Tumuramye said they (Chipper Cash) were excited to walk the journey with House of DJs and wished everyone a very good journey and to enjoy the function when it comes.

Chipper Cash, as the Platinum Sponsor (the digital payments partner) of this year’s 10th Edition of Blankets and Wine, is offering all party-goers discounted tickets of up to 20%.

Tumuranye announced planned flash ticket sales with crazier discounts for all verified Chipper Cash users.

The tickets are available for single, couple, or squad tickets for a group of four. The company says the tickets are available via chipperevents.com.

  2. Select a ticket of your choice and quantity
  3. Enter your details Select “Pay with Chipper Cash”
  4. Approve the payment in the Chipper Cash app
  5. Receive your tickets in your email
