Glasgow, Scotland — Uganda’s national netball team, the She Cranes, have been crowned 2025 Celtic Cup Champions, completing a flawless campaign and firmly stamping their authority on the international stage.
The Ugandan side wrapped up the title with a commanding 70–48 victory over Wales at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow, closing the tournament as the only undefeated team.

The win against the Welsh Feathers marked Uganda’s fifth victory in five games, all secured on foreign soil — a testament to the team’s growing confidence, discipline, and world-class execution.
Star shooter Mary Nuba delivered another outstanding performance and was named Lady of the Match — her second such accolade in the tournament. Meanwhile, rising talent Nasanga Shadiah walked away with the prestigious Most Valuable Player (MVP) award of the entire Celtic Cup, highlighting her pivotal contribution throughout the competition.

Earlier in the tournament, Uganda also defeated regional rivals Zimbabwe 67–54, a match in which Shaffie Nalwanja earned Player of the Match honours. She became the fourth Ugandan to receive the accolade, joining Mary Nuba (versus Scottish Thistles), Maggie Riri (against Northern Ireland Warriors), and Maimuna Segujja (against Namibia Desert Jewels).
The Uganda Netball Federation and fans worldwide lauded the team’s resilience and spirit.

“What a great tournament. The girls fought and left it all out there,” Netball Uganda posted, celebrating the historic achievement.
The final day of action saw Namibia earn their first win of the competition, edging Northern Ireland, while Scotland secured second place after a solid 10-goal win over Zimbabwe. But the spotlight belonged unmistakably to Uganda, whose dominance left no doubt about the rightful champions of the tournament.

The She Cranes’ triumphant performance at the 2025 Celtic Cup not only elevates Uganda’s profile in global netball but also signals a team on the rise — united, inspired, and ready for even greater heights.
