Security Guard Shoots Woman Dead, Injures One

Police in Kampala are holding a security guard from a private security company who Wednesday shot a woman dead and injured one.

In a statement, Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy Spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigire said the incident took place along Ben Kiwanuka Street on Wednesday evening.

“Today (Wednesday) at exactly 8:15pm, CPS responded to gun shots that were fired around Ben Kiwanuka street. It was established that a one Muhwezi caleb a guard with Swat Security Company guarding Pioneer building allegedly released bullets,” Luke explained.

“The bullets killed one person identified as Bukoye Brendah, 36, a resident of Nsambya Railway and wounded Nanyonjo Anita, a student at kampala university, currently admitted at Mulago in critical condition,” he added.

Owoyesigire says Muhwezi, was since arrested and his gun recovered.

The cause of the shooting is not yet established since by the time of publication, he had not made a statement upon what happened.

He has however been charged with murder via SD ref 81/23/01/2019 of Central Police station.
