The Sauti Canvas a Multi-faceted platform has launched its season 2 to promote inclusive talent and access to decent work for young people living with and without disabilities under the theme “We are Able “
The canvas under the collective collaboration of partners including Reach a Hand Uganda, Light for the World, ADD International , CBM-Christoffel Blindenmission Christian Blind Mission and the National Union of Disabled Persons of Uganda (NUDIPU), serves as a talent search and exposure platform.
Speaking to the launch held in Kampala, Silvester Kasozi, Light for the World Uganda, said the canvas specifically targets young individuals below the age of 30 and is anchored on four pillars: Talent, Empowerment, Inclusion, and Meaningful youth participation.
He added that the strong collaboration is using edutainment models music and art (instrumentation, poetry and art) to influence positive behavioural change.
“The primary objective of the Sauti Canvas talent search is to provide a platform for young people with disabilities to exhibit their talents, promote disability inclusion through arts and music, and advocate for increased access to youth-friendly services within different regions in Uganda,” Kasozi said.
Humphrey Nabimanya, Chief Executive Officer, Reach a Hand Uganda, said as an organization, they are committed to empowering youth.
“The Sauti Canvas represents our dedication to inclusivity, talent promotion, and advocacy for youth-friendly services. We believe in the transformative power of arts and music to drive positive behavioral changes,” he said.
