The First Lady of Rwanda, Mrs Jeannette Kagame, on Saturday, travelled to Uganda to pay her last funeral rites to Canon Constance Kabonero who died at the age of 92.
Jeannette represented her husband, President Paul Kagame, at the funeral held at Ibaare in Ntungamo district.
Present at the burial was President Museveni’s daughter Natasha and her husband, Edwin Karugire.
Canon Constance was the mother of Susan Muhwezi (the wife to Minister Jim Muhwezi), former Ambassador Richard Kabonero and businessman Bob Kabonero.
Constance breathed her last at Victoria Hospital in Kampala on May 30.
“Rest in Peace, Mummy,” Maj Gen Jim K Muhwezi tweeted.
In his speech, former Minister Mwesigwa Rukutana thanked Jeannette for keeping the friendship with the family of the deceased.

A prominent farmer, the late Constance was born in 1930.
She went to Kitunga primary school in Ntungamo district in 1946 for her primary level and Bweranyangi Junior in Bushenyi district from 1950-52.
She later enrolled at Mengo Hospital where she studied and completed her nursing and midwifery course.
After her studies, she worked as a midwife at Missionary founded maternity centres in Mukono, Masaka, Mengo, Kapeka and Bulemezi.
She was married to Dr Kosiya Kabonero who passed away in 1995.
