Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov will visit the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Federal Republic of Ethiopia, the Republic of Uganda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo) from July 24 to July 27, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has announced.
This, was also confirmed by the ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Uganda and Republic of South Sudan, Vladlen Semivolos.

The visit, will be Sergey’s first visit to Uganda. It also comes at a time Russia is fostering its influence and relationship on the African Continent, following Russia’s “special military operation in Ukraine”.
Lavrov’s visit comes ahead of the second Russia-Africa summit, which is expected to take place in Addis Abeba, around October-November 2022.
In October 2019, Russia hosted the first Russia–Africa Economic Forum in Sochi, which was attended by several African heads of state and governments.
