The Prime Minister, Dr Ruhakana Rugunda, has urged Buganda Kingdom to send their proposals on the Constitutional Amendment Bill 2017 in which Government seeks to amend the land law.

Dr Rugunda made the remarks at the 24th Coronation anniversary of Kabaka Mutebi of Buganda in Mubende where he represented President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on Monday.

Rugunda said Government seeks to amend Article 26 to address the problem of delayed implementation of government infrastructure and investment projects due to disputes arising out of the compulsory land acquisition process.

Rugunda also saluted Katikkiro Peter Mayiga for organising an excellent 24th coronation anniversary event.

In a message read by Rugunda, President Museveni saluted Kabaka Mutebi for the good leadership he is providing to Buganda Kingdom.

“Traditional leaders should continue to help us in ensuring that our languages and cultures are preserved,” Museveni said.
