Raxio Data Centre, Uganda’s Tier III certified carrier and cloud-neutral data centre, has launched the Uganda’s Data Centre Landscape 2025 Report.
The report provides valuable insights into the trends, challenges, and opportunities shaping Uganda’s digital infrastructure landscape.
According to the report, four core drivers are transforming the industry: increased cloud adoption, the rapid rise of Artificial Intelligence (AI), stricter data sovereignty and compliance frameworks, and the growing relevance of sustainability in infrastructure development.
However, the report also highlights significant challenges, including unreliable power supply and high capital requirements, which hinder the full-scale adoption of digital solutions.
Despite these challenges, the report notes opportunities for growth. Cloud computing in Uganda has grown by over 30% in just three years and is projected to continue growing until 2031, according to the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC), 6Wresearch.
Additionally, AI adoption is expected to thrive due to a tech-savvy youth demographic, with 73.2% of Uganda’s population under the age of 30.
Caroline Kamaitha, General Manager of Raxio Data Centre Uganda, emphasized the importance of robust, secure, and sustainable infrastructure for Uganda’s digital ambitions. “Data centres are not only powering businesses but also advancing public services, financial services, education, and healthcare.”
The report noted that Uganda’s digital economy requires robust, compliant, and sustainable digital infrastructure to support its growth.
