The Uganda National Cultural Center (UNCC) in partnership with the French Embassy, Kampala through the FSPI cultural project has launched the UNCC Arts and Culture Magazine.
According to Robert Musiitwa, the UNCC Public Relations Manager, the magazine will be used to celebrate, promote Uganda’s Art and culture.
Musiitwa noted that so much has been happening within the Arts and Culture Sector but little has been publicized.
He revealed that mainstream media has neglected them for political, and business stories.
“In Uganda today, there are many project activities and events happening in the Arts and Culture sector yet most of them go unnoticed because it is considered not news worthy. Besides lacking a voice as a sector, UNCC Arts and Culture magazine is here to address the above challenges and much more,” He said.
Musiitwa told guests at the launch held at the UNCC grounds that the Magazine will be coming out once a month.
Mr Delip from the Indian High Commission in Uganda, thanked UNCC for introducing an Arts and Culture Magazine.
He pledged full support from the Indian High Commission in Uganda.
Also present was Charles Batambuze, the Vice Chairperson of National Cultural Forum and Uganda Musicians Association’s general secretary Phina Mugerwa, among others.
