The Public Relations Association of Uganda (PRAU) has agreed to partner with the Kingdom of Buganda to roll out numerous planned activities that will play a key role in advancing the Kingdom’s community projects.
During an engagement meeting that took place today with Owek. Charles Peter Mayiga, the Katikkiro of Buganda Kingdom, Members of the PRAU Governing Council applauded the Katikkiro for taking the lead role in guiding the people of Buganda especially during the sensitive Covid-19 pandemic period.
“I take this opportunity to express my gratitude to the ObwaKabaka bwa Buganda for the efforts made towards community projects despite the negative effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. We appreciate that a lot of work is needed to preserve the Buganda culture and for this, we applaud you, for taking the lead role in guiding the people of Buganda,” Stephen Mwanga, PRAU President said.
The Owek. Charles Peter Mayiga, the Katikkiro of Buganda Kingdom endorsed the partnership and appreciated the professional body of PRAU for the commendable communication efforts being done to elevate Uganda as a country and Buganda as a kingdom.
“PR is meant to cement relationships between an organization and its publics and it is very key for any organization or institution to take it up or risk being left behind. Among the various valuable partnerships that the kingdom is involved in, I believe this partnership with PRAU will benefit the youths towards many opportunities including employment,” said Owek. Charles Peter Mayiga.
‘When we partner with PRAU, we will do so much to help the youths in Buganda in particular and Uganda in general to identify opportunities through communication as opposed to keeping on social media. I therefore, as Team Leader endorse the partnership between Buganda Kingdom & the Public Relations Association of Uganda.” Owek. Charles Peter Mayiga added.
PRAU, through the partnership with the Buganda Kingdom intends to add value to the communication elements of the Kingdom’s community projects on health, girl-child education, poverty alleviation, tourism, tree planting, agriculture and cultural preservation, among others for the good of the communities in and around Buganda.
This partnership will also see the PR team at the Kingdom, led by the Information Minister, Owek. Noah Kiyimba, join PRAU as members.
