PostBank Uganda showcased its prowess beyond banking by clinching victory against Parliament in an exhibition game at the 2025 FUBA Women’s All-Star Tournament held at the Lugogo Indoor Stadium.
The thrilling encounter saw PostBank triumph 60-52, in a match that blended sportsmanship, entertainment, and corporate engagement.
Led by former Falcons and UCU Canons forward Steven Mwesige, PostBank dominated the court, impressing the crowd with skilful play and securing winners’ medals. The bank, which served as the tournament’s headline sponsor, underscored its commitment to sports and community development.
PostBank MD Julius Kakeeto and Head of Marketing & Communications Priscilla Akora graced the occasion, participating in the awards ceremony.

Several legislators took to the court for Parliament’s team, including Amuria District Woman MP Suzan Amero and Koboko Woman MP Sharifah Aete Taban, while Omoro County MP Andrew Ojok Oulanya cheered from the stands.
Team Ageno Retains All-Star Title in Thrilling Final
In the main event, Team Ageno successfully defended their title, edging Team Kamwada 52-48 in a nail-biting championship game. Captained by JT Lady Jaguars and Gazelles forward Sarah Ageno, the reigning champions maintained their composure in the decisive moments of the fourth quarter.
With under a minute to play, Team Kamwada led 48-47, but a crucial defensive play by Margaret Bagala turned the tide. Bagala intercepted an inbound pass from Shakirah Nanvubya and was fouled as she drove to the basket, converting a three-point play to give Team Ageno a two-point lead. A subsequent turnover by Team Kamwada saw Fildauce Namuleme sink two clutch free throws, sealing the victory.
Legends and Entertainment Steal the Show
The event also featured a Legends Game, where Team Franceas triumphed over Team Viola (44-22), showcasing the talents of former basketball stars who once dominated the headlines.

Beyond the games, the day kicked off with a mentorship program for young players, where former and current athletes provided guidance on basketball fundamentals and life skills. The tournament wrapped up with electrifying performances from King Saha and Vinka, adding a festive touch to the well-attended event.
