Vatican City – Pope Francis remains in critical condition at the hospital. Still, according to the latest medical update from the Holy See Press Office, his health has shown some signs of stabilisation.
Since Saturday evening, the 87-year-old pontiff has not experienced any new respiratory crises. His condition remains serious, but there are indications of improvement.
Doctors report that his blood values have shown progress following the administration of two units of concentrated red blood cells, leading to an increase in haemoglobin levels. Meanwhile, thrombocytopenia remains stable.
However, the Pope has developed early signs of mild renal insufficiency, though medical staff assure that it is currently under control. He continues to receive high-flow oxygen therapy through nasal cannulas to support his breathing.

Despite his condition, Pope Francis remains alert and well-oriented. This morning, he attended Holy Mass in his hospital apartment on the tenth floor, surrounded by those caring for him.
“The complexity of the clinical situation and the necessary time for the pharmacological treatments to take effect means that the prognosis remains guarded,” stated the Vatican’s medical team.
This marks the Pope’s ninth night in the hospital as the global Catholic community prays for his recovery. Church leaders and faithful around the world continue to send messages of support, expressing hope for the pontiff’s swift return to full health.
