It is alleged that the deceased child, who had gained access to the premises with her parents Nabawesi Florence and the father only identified as Micheal, was left unattended and fell in a nearby pond.

The incident was captured in the CCTV footage recovered from the premises.

The child was rescued and given CPR by near first responders.

She was later taken to Mulago Hospital for treatment but was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Owoyesigyire said investigations into the incident ascertained that there was some negligence exhibited by the parents.

“Parents are urged to always keep a close eye on their children while moving into new environments,” said Owoyesigyire.

“Investigations are ongoing and more communication will be done at an opportune time. We are also conveying our condolences to the bereaved family on the death of their child.”
