President Museveni has appointed Pius Perry Biribonwoha as the new Solicitor General, promoting him from his previous role as Deputy Solicitor General.
Biribonwoha assumed the office of Deputy Solicitor General of the Republic of Uganda in February 2022, replacing Christopher Gashirabake.
Biribonwoha assumes his new duties effective today October 15, 2024, according to the Government Citizen Interaction Centre (GCIC).
Francis Atoke, the outgoing Solicitor General, handed over to Pius Perry Biribonwoha, in the presence of Hon. Kafuuzi Jackson, the Deputy Attorney General of the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs.
During the handover, Atoke emphasised the importance of embracing culture, calling it the backbone of success for any organization.
In his remarks, Hon Kafuuzi said Francis Atoke leaves a record of pure dedication and thorough service with clean hands.
With two decades of experience in the legal field, Biribonwoha served as the Counsel General at Parliament.
He served as Parliament’s Director, Legal and Legislative Services from May 2008 to May 2019 before being promoted to General Counsel.
