President Yoweri Museveni and First Lady Janet Kataaha Museveni have marked their 50th wedding anniversary.
The Golden Jubilee service took place at St. Matthews Cathedral in Kyamate, Ntungamo District on Saturday.
Their son, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, who was accompanied by his wife Charlotte, was the best man.
President Museveni and Janet Museveni wedded at Turnham Green Church, England on August 24, 1973.
This year, they are celebrating 50 years of marriage (golden jubilee).
“First Lady Janet Museveni Yoweri (Museveni) has always possessed that quality; a steadfast, indefatigable character, no matter what came against him, he would stay standing. He seemed so sure of his purpose and direction that nothing could bother him,” tweeted State House.
After the prayers, the first couple hosted their guests at their country home in Irenga village, Kikoni Parish, Ntungamo district.
