The Uganda Vocational and Technical Assessment Board (UVTAB) has successfully registered a total of 53,770 candidates to sit for the May/June 2025 assessments, scheduled to take place from May 2 to June 6, 2025, at 478 assessment centers.
According to CPA Onesmus Oyesigye, Executive Secretary UVTAB, assessments will include the first cohort of 13,000 candidates registered for modular and full occupation level I and II, and the Workers’ Pass.
He noted that UVTAB has also registered 111 candidates with special needs, who will be provided with support personnel, such as sign language interpreters, transcribers, and guides.
To ensure the smooth conduct of the assessments, UVTAB will deploy 367 Scouts to prevent assessment malpractices, 849 Practical Assessors and verifiers to conduct on-the-spot practical assessments
The Board conducted briefings for Area Coordinators and Centre Supervisors on April 25, 2025, Heads of Centres on May 2, 2025, to ensure a smooth assessment process
UVTAB, in collaboration with the Uganda Police Force, has also commenced delivering assessment materials to designated storage facilities across the country.
The Board encourages Heads of Assessment Centres to display notices on offences and penalties for malpractices and caution candidates against smuggling mobile phones into the assessment rooms.
