A total of 5,138 students are set to graduate from Kyambogo University. Among them, 3,157 are male (61%), and 1,981 are female (39%). This year, 367 students achieved first-class honours.
The graduation ceremony will take place on Wednesday, November 10, and Thursday, November 11.
Professor Eli Katunguka, the Vice Chancellor of Kyambogo University, announced that 23 PhD candidates will graduate, with 12 from the School of Education, 4 from the School of Art and Industrial Design, 3 from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, and 4 from the Faculty of Sciences.
Katunguka noted that the relatively low number of graduates is partly due to the impact of COVID-19 during the 2021/2022 academic year, when there were no Senior Six exams.
The overall best-performing student this year is Teddy Nakasango Charity, who achieved a cumulative GPA of 4.98 in the Bachelor of Information Technology and Computing from the School of Computing and Information Science. The best-performing male student is Francis Guma, with a GPA of 4.93 in the Bachelor of Guidance and Counselling from the Faculty of Social Sciences.
