Ugandan athlete Oscar Chelimo has won bronze in the men’s 5,000m race in World Athletics Championships held in Eugene, Oregon (US).
Norway’s Jakob Ingebrigtsen, the reigning Olympic champion in the men’s 1,500m, won the 5,000m race on Sunday night with a time of 13 minutes, 9.24 seconds.
In second place was Kenya’s Jacob Krop, who finished in 13:09.98.
Chelimo was third in 13:10.20.
Reigning Olympic champion Joshua Cheptegei was among the leaders early in the race but fell to ninth place with a time of 13:13.12.
Cheptegei also won the men’s 10,000 meters on July 17.
Chelimo’s win saw Uganda end the competition with three medals.
Cheptegei and Kiplimo had earlier won Gold and Bronze in the 10,000m race.
