The Deputy Secretary General of the National Resistance Movement (NRM), Rose Namayanja Nsereko, has lauded President Yoweri Museveni, for spearheading the renewal and reorganization of party structures from the village to the district level.

She emphasized that the newly elected grassroots leaders are crucial mobilizers for the party’s campaign in the 2026 general elections.

“As leaders, our role is to mobilize even more vigorously as we head into 2026,” Namayanja said.

She revealed that nearly Shs 40 billion has been disbursed across the three districts of Greater Mpigi through PDM, bringing government support closer to the people.

Reflecting on the evolution of Mpigi district and its voting patterns, Namayanja noted that in 2011, President Museveni secured 72% of the vote, while his closest challenger garnered 25%.

Namayanja highlighted the region’s remarkable population growth, from 398,000 voters in 1996 to over 672,000 today, attributing this to improved health services and social transformation under NRM leadership.

She praised the NRM government’s expansion of public services, citing achievements such as free education through Universal Primary Education (UPE) and Universal Secondary Education (USE), improved access to healthcare, and reduced illiteracy.

She called on fellow leaders to amplify the President’s message and achievements to the public.

“As a country, we may not yet be where we want to be, but we’re far better off than we used to be. President Museveni has shown unparalleled love for his people through initiatives like Education for All, mass immunization, Prosperity for All, and the Parish Development Model (PDM),” she said.
