The National Resistance Movement (NRM) Deputy Secretary General, Namayanja Rose Nsereko, has rallied the people of Mubende to support President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni in the upcoming general elections, highlighting the government’s commitment to resolving people’s challenges.

Namayanja made the call at the 5th Buganda for Museveni rally in Kasana Playground, Mubende Municipality.

She emphasized the NRM’s achievements in improving road infrastructure, electricity connectivity, and distribution of safe and clean water, particularly in urban areas.

She revealed that the Minister of Works and Transport, Gen. Katumba Wamala, has assured the allocation of funds to complete the Mityana-Mubende road in the next financial year.

Namayanja assured the people of the government’s commitment to resolving existing land conflicts between landlords and tenants. “We are going to pay landlords to safeguard the wanainchi from eviction. We are committed to seeing this resolved,” she said.

State Minister for Microfinance, Haruna Kyeyune Kasolo, urged the youth to embrace government interventions aimed at fighting poverty, such as the Parish Development Model (PDM) and Emyooga.

Mubende Municipality Member of Parliament, Bashir Lubega Ssempa, commended the government for delivering key infrastructure in the district, including paved roads, graded marrum roads, and the construction of the Central market at a cost of Shs 11 billion.

The rally aimed to raise awareness about the NRM government’s achievements and plans, amid visible cracks within the party’s ranks in the region. Despite internal rifts, the event demonstrated strong support for President Museveni and the NRM.
