The National Resistance Movement (NRM), on Friday announced a roadmap in finding the party’s flag bearer, in the forthcoming Parliamentary by- election in Ruhaama County in Ntungamo district, which became vacant after the death of Hon Beijukye William Zinkuratiire early this month.

In a press release signed by the NRM Electoral Chairperson Dr. Tanga Odoi, expression of interest and picking nomination forms will last 5 days starting from 23th – 28th of November 2017.

The cleaning and updating of the register will commence on Monday 27th December and continue up to 6th December, 2017 at the Ntungamo district Party headquarters.

The release further indicates that nomination of the candidates will take place on Wednesday 27th and Thursday 30th, 2017 at the party headquarters.

Nominated candidates will conduct joint campaigns for 7 days from 1st December to Wednesday 6th December, 2017 before voting takes place on Friday 8th December, 2017.

Ruhaama County was represented by First lady and Minister of Education and sports Hon Janet Kataaha Museveni from 2011-2016 before resigning from elective politics.

Until his death on 3rd November, 2017 at Nsambya hospital, Hon. Beijukye William Zinkuratiire was the area’s law maker.

Meanwhile, a big number of people including the wife to the late legislator Ms Allen Beijukye, has already indicated interest in representing people in this Western Uganda constituency.

These include Allen Beijukye Zinku, Johnson Rumanywa Zinku, Mugabe Moses Kahima, Tom Rwomushana,Eng.Jackson Mubangizi Kabikire and Kachene Santurina Namanya.

Others include FDC strongman Kenneth Kagundu, Muhebwe Anold Kongo, Dr.Bazinzi Natamba, Boora Eric Musafiri and Arthur Mpeirwe Rwobushanku.

The National Electoral commission will conduct the nomination exercise of candidates in this by- election on Monday 11th December, 2017.
