Prischa’s maiden gospel reggae song ‘Pe Apore’ earned her a spot on the list to represent Northern Uganda.

Reacting to the nomination, the singer said she was excited about her song making it to the final list “because it’s a big inspiration to her musical talent in helping nourish souls”.

“As I prepare for this new move into the gospel genre, I have written a couple of songs like, Take me home, What Will I do, Mony Polo and Tin Awoto which I expect to release during the course of the year,” she revealed.

The 29-year-old singer, songwriter and events photographer launched her music career six years ago inspired by the desire to spread a message of hope and resilience at the time when Northern Ugands was recovering from decades of war.

In 2013, Prischa’s song titled ‘Owek Tim Gero’ themed on ending violence won her an award in a music competition organized by Save the Children International. Two years later, she was named best female artiste in the annual Northern Uganda Music Awards (NUMA).

She says her nomination in the Viga Awards “is God’s calling through his people, Northern Uganda”.

Signed to Rockstar Edu-tainment, a local talent and music promotion agency in Gulu, Prischa has since released over 20 songs to her name with a mixed blend of Luo Folks, Dancehall and Hiphop.
