No Funds Were lost, MTN Speaks Out on Recent Mobile Money Service Disruption

Last weekend, MTN Uganda Customers experienced service disruptions while accessing Mobile Money Services.

According to the telecom company, this was caused by a routine maintenance implemented during the service window on March 11, 2022.

“The service disruption impacted a limited range of transactions as our technical team managed to swiftly restore full service,” a statement released by MTN Uganda on March 14, read.

The statement further noted that there was no loss of funds from the clients accounts.

“MTN Uganda reassures its esteemed customers and the general public that there has been no loss of funds on our clients’ accounts. We regret any inconveniences caused by the system intermittences,” the statement noted.

Adding, “Customers may contact us through social media or our call center for further assistance related to their individual accounts.”
