A total of nine police officers were awarded medals during the International Labor Day Celebrations held at Namutumba District Headquarters ceremonial grounds.
Five of the officers who include; AIGP Mugisa Joseph, the Director Fire and Rescue Services; AIGP Francis Xaxier Rwego; SCP Wilson Omoding Otuna, the Deputy Director Operations; SSP. Eng Muvawala Christine and Corporal Ochaya Roseline were honoured with a long service Gold medal (30 years Plus).
On the other hand, CP Kuteesa Simon, ACP Dr Kitayimbwa Peter, Retired SSP Okungo Juma, and ACP Dr Rubanza were awarded Diamond Jubilee, Independence Medal.
“We congratulate the officers upon this milestone,” said police leadership.
