L’Oréal East Africa, a subsidiary of global beauty giant L’Oréal Group, has officially relaunched its beloved skincare brand Nice & Lovely in Uganda, unveiling a new product innovation: Nice & Lovely Lemon Extract Body Lotion — specially crafted to brighten, hydrate, and nourish the skin of Ugandan women.
The vibrant relaunch event, held at Four Points by Sheraton in Kampala, was graced by high-profile guests, including Hon. Evelyn Anite, State Minister for Privatisation and Investment; Victoria Karanja, General Manager of L’Oréal Consumer Product Division; Mr. Anil Damani, Managing Director of Dembe Trading Enterprises; and Mr. Aditya Kumar, General Manager at Dembe Trading Enterprises.
Speaking at the launch, Hon. Anite celebrated the brand’s return and its contribution to the local economy.

“Nice & Lovely is back in the Ugandan market with a variety of hair and skin care products plus 150 jobs created for Uganda. I am happy they are manufacturing in Kenya, but I encouraged them to come and invest in the Pearl of Africa — Uganda, the best investment destination in Africa,” she said.
Doreen Kathambi, Brand Business Lead at L’Oréal East Africa, introduced the new product as a premium, science-driven skincare solution tailored to East African skin.
“Nice & Lovely Lemon Extract Lotion is enriched with Vitamin C, Sunflower Seed Oil, and Natural Lemon Extract. It delivers 48 hours of intense hydration, while visibly evening skin tone and enhancing natural radiance. Our research shows that 85% of African women seek long-lasting hydration and protection from environmental stressors. This product delivers that — with love, care, and performance.”

To mark the relaunch, L’Oréal has launched an exciting “Paint Kampala Yellow” campaign — a dynamic consumer engagement rollout that includes product sampling, pop-up experiences, skincare consultations, and social media activations to reintroduce Nice & Lovely to Ugandan consumers.
Speaking on the strategic significance of Uganda in the brand’s expansion, Victoria Karanja, General Manager of the Consumer Product Division, emphasized: “East Africa is a core growth engine for L’Oréal. Uganda stands out with its youthful population, stable economy, and booming beauty and personal care market now valued at €90 million — with body care alone achieving 90% penetration. There’s a clear demand, and Nice & Lovely is here to meet it with trusted, high-performance products.”
Karanja added that the wider East African beauty market is valued at €535 million, with Uganda contributing significantly. Of the 48 million Ugandans, 2.6 million have been identified as an addressable market for L’Oréal — representing a major growth opportunity.

Mr. Anil Damani and Mr. Aditya Kumar, of Dembe Trading Enterprises, L’Oréal’s official distribution partner in Uganda, reaffirmed their commitment to driving access and visibility of the relaunched product.
“Nice & Lovely is a cherished brand in East Africa. Its return to Uganda is not just a comeback, it’s a renewal of trust and connection with consumers who deserve both quality and affordability,” said Damani.
The Nice & Lovely Lemon Extract Body Lotion is now available across major retailers and online platforms in Uganda. With its refreshing citrus scent, fast-absorbing formula, and skin-loving ingredients, it is perfect for everyday use — offering a radiant glow that lasts all day.
