The Management of National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC)- Kampala Water has closed the water supply at Ggaba 3 water treatment plant to handle an emergency fault.

The affected Areas in Nakasero service area are; City center, Kololo, areas along Port Bell Road up to Bugolobi, Mukwano, 5th and 6th street, Kanyanya, Nabweru, Kawempe Mbogo and the surrounding areas.

In Muyenga service area, the shutdown affects Acacia Avenue, Wandegeya, Namirembe, Mengo, Makerere, Kawempe, Maganjo, Kagoma, Matugga, Nansana, parts of Namirembe, Nakulabye, Bakuli, parts of city center, Nile avenue and the surround areas.

A team of specialized engineers is on ground working tirelessly to complete works and restore water supply in the shortest time possible.

The works are estimated to last 18 hours.

“Customers are therefore advised to store enough water and use it sparingly as we work. All inconveniences are highly regretted,” NWSC said in a statement on Thursday.
