Nateete Man is Sixth Ugandan to Die of Covid, 31 New Cases

The Ministry of Health has confirmed another fatality due to covid-19, taking the number of deaths to Six.  The deceased is a 70-year -old Ugandan who was resident in Nateete, Kampala.

According to a statement by the Ministry of Health, the deceased presented at Lubaga Hospital on July 24, 2020 with signs and symptoms consistent with coronavirus including mild fever, cough and difficulty in breathing.

Upon deterioration, he was admitted at the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and samples taken for analysis. Laboratories confirmed the samples as positive of SARS-COV2.

He was referred to Mulago Hospital on 28 July 2020 and admitted to ICU. Unfortunately he passed away on the evening of Thursday 6, August 2020.

In a related development, 31 new cases have been recorded from samples tested on Thursday 6 August 2020, raising the country’s tally to 1,254.

Uganda has so far registered 1,113 recoveries.
