In her latest comments amid a deepening feud with Speaker of Parliament, the State Minister for Lands, Princess Persis Namuganza has advised Kadaga to learn to heed to the advice of President Yoweri Museveni as a Head of State, in order to avoid unnecessary conficts.
Namuganza on Wednesday passed the message while interfacing with the Committee of Parliament on Rules, Discipline and Privileges.
The Minister was appearing before the committee chaired by Kalaki County MP, Clement Obote Ongola to give her side of the story following the accusations labeled against her which include threatening the life of Speaker Kadaga.
It is reported that Namuganza made tough statements about the Speaker whom she criticized for visiting her (Namuganza) constituency in Bukono and unilaterally installing a new Chief without her knowledge as the area MP.
At a social function, Namuganza is said to have made utterances that incited the public to attack, cause injury to Kadaga and also threatened to cause death to the Speaker.
On Wednesday, Namuganza told members of the committee that since the demise of the late Bukono chief, Christopher Mutyaba, there has been a succession war that has left the family and the entire Busoga region divided.
The Minister revealed that the delicate nature of the matter had prompted President Museveni to intervene and advise that the succession process be halted.
“I was sent by the President on the February 27, 2018 to tell my people to hold on the exercise but surprisingly, after my visit, the Speaker flew to Bukono and installed a so-called Chief which has since sparked off violence in the region,” Namuganza explained to the committee.
She requested that the committee summons the Speaker to give her side of the story as well as explain herself on the existing row.
Furthermore, Namuganza asked the members sitting on the committee to advise Kadaga to stop using her ego in disrepute of other areas.
“The Speaker should desist from politically interfering in the delicate matters of the loyals in Busoga since she is not a loyal. Leave the issues of loyals to loyals,” Namuganza recommended.
She as well requested that the supervising Ministry of Gender to appear before the committee to make a statement on the current leadership wrangles in Busoga kingdom.
