TV personality Justine Nameere has issued a formal notice expressing her interest to sue NTV news anchor and presenter, Faridah Nakazibwe for defaming her as well as cyber harassment.

The April 12 notice has spelt out conditions for Faridah Nakazibwe to do within a five-day ultimatum failure of which, Nameere will file a case in court.
Justine Nameere has demanded that Nakazibwe pays her a sum of Shs 500 million as costs for pyscological torment and damaging her reputation.

The lawyers also demand that Nakazibwe writes a Bold lettered apology to Justine Nameere and publicly publish it using the same platform (Facebook) that she used to defame her.

They further seek that the NTV ‘Mwasuze Mutya’ show host foots all legal costs incurred by Nameere in pursuit of the matter so far.

In the notice, Nameere expresses displeasure that she was accused of opening up 10 false Facebook accounts and writing to Nakazibwe’s “little known husband” yet the allegations were never backed by facts.

“You falsely accused our client of threatening you and tapping your phones, hacking into your Facebook and email accounts and alleged that our client has offered your friends money in exchange for information about you, yet you can not prove any of those wild allegations that you chose to make public,” Nameere’s lawyers state in the notice.

They argue that unlike Nakazibwe, their client (Nameere) is a family woman, public figure, a celebrity and media personality with a clean reputation globally.

“Your defamatory post against our client attracted reactions, shares and comments with ridicule among right thinking members of the global community and resulted into grave defamation and slander on our otherwise famous client,” the notice further reads.

On April 1, Nakazibwe wrote serious accusations against Nameere whom she claims has tormented her and threatened her marriage for a long while. In a post on her Facebook page, Faridah said she was tired of keeping silent while her marriage risks being torn apart.

She said Nameere has been creating fake Facebook pages and sending messages to her husband, Dr Omar Ssali to portray her as a prostitute who goes around having sex outside their wedlock.

In the post which has so far been shared over 360 times, Faridah attached screenshot images of inbox messages from different persons who claim she is unfaithful to her husband and a disgrace to her family.
